Canungra, Scenic Rim gateway to Lamington National Park

Web design for a small town built on timber, tourism and an Army base.

Custom websites for Canungra's tourism operators, hospitality venues and rural-residential trades — from a Gold Coast studio a genuine drive further into the hinterland than its everyday radius.

Smaller than Tamborine Mountain, and a different economy

Canungra is a town of about 1,400 people, not a tourism strip

Canungra started as a timber town — the Lahey brothers ran one of the largest softwood mills in the country here in the early 1900s, with a railway built in 1900 to haul logs down from the ranges. That industry is long gone. What is left is a small township serving two very different groups: day-trippers heading up to Lamington National Park's Green Mountains section and O'Reilly's, and the Australian Army's Land Warfare Centre and Kokoda Barracks, which keeps a transient population of soldiers and contractors cycling through on postings. Worth being honest about scale — this is a fraction of Tamborine Mountain's tourist footprint, and the website work reflects that: a handful of strong pages beats a padded-out site pretending to be bigger than the town.

Further than the everyday Oxenford radius

Straight up: Canungra is new territory, not home turf

Aidxn Design is based at 9/2 Carnarvon Ct, Oxenford, and Canungra is a genuine drive from there — out through Nerang and along the Tamborine-Oxenford and Canungra roads, closer to forty minutes than the fifteen-minute radius the studio covers day to day. That is a workable trip for discovery or a bigger project, but it would be dishonest to sell it as a five-minute local job. The normal mode for a Canungra client is remote — calls, shared drafts, a build reviewed on video — with an in-person visit arranged when the project is big enough to earn the drive both ways.

Built for gateway traffic and a small trading base

The site has to work for two very different visitors

A café or servo on the main street sees Lamington National Park day-trippers filling up before the climb to O'Reilly's or Green Mountains, alongside locals connected to Kokoda Barracks who just want something dependable close to home. A tourism operator needs the site to load fast on patchy reception at the edge of the range, show real trail and drive-time information, and make the next step — book, call, get directions — obvious in one screen. A rural-residential trade needs the opposite: a fast quote path, a clear service radius out through Sarabah, Wonglepong and Guanaba, and none of the tourism dressing that would look odd on a fencing or earthworks site.

One studio for the site, the brand and the traffic

A small town does not mean a small opportunity

Fewer businesses in Canungra are actually investing in a proper website, which means a well-built one stands out further than the same effort would in a crowded suburb. The same studio handles brand identity and ongoing Google Ads, Meta and local SEO management, run to the same process used across the northern Gold Coast on the Oxenford page — applied honestly to a much smaller market rather than oversold as something it is not.

Web design in Canungra — common questions

No, and it's worth saying plainly. The studio is at 9/2 Carnarvon Ct, Oxenford, roughly forty minutes away through Nerang — a genuine drive, further than the northern Gold Coast suburbs the studio treats as its everyday patch. It's still workable for discovery or a site visit on a bigger project, just not a five-minute local job.

For the right business, yes — precisely because so few Canungra businesses have invested in one. A café, tour operator or trade with a decent site stands out further in a thin market than the same effort would in a crowded Gold Coast suburb. It is not worth it for every business, and an honest studio will tell you if a Facebook page and a Google Business Profile are enough for now.

Both, and they need different things. A tourism business needs strong photography, trail and drive-time information, and a booking or enquiry path that survives patchy reception on the edge of the range. A rural-residential trade needs speed, a clear service radius through places like Sarabah and Wonglepong, and a quote form that gets straight to the point.

Properly built local content and a maintained Google Business Profile — the same local SEO approach used across the Gold Coast, aimed at gateway search patterns like 'Canungra to Lamington National Park' rather than generic industry keywords no local business can win against national booking sites.

It's worth accounting for. The transient posting cycle means a chunk of the local customer base turns over every two to three years, so word of mouth alone will not sustain a business the way it might in a settled town — a site that actually ranks and gets found by new arrivals matters more here than it would elsewhere.

Yes — the code, content and domain are yours, on hosting in your name. No proprietary builder locking the site in, no monthly fee just to keep it switched on.
